Great Wall Of China – The Most Popular Tourism Attractions

If you tell to your friends that you’ve recently gone to a trip to China, then probably the very first question that one among your friends there will ask about would be about The Great Wall of China.

What is the reason behind such a passion of people when it comes to this historical fortress monument? I’ve already visited the Great Wall of China once before and I can gladly sum it all into single word .i.e. The Great Wall of China is “incredible”!

I was really awestruck after experiencing such an awesome sightseeing of its spectacular scenery and knowing about its valiant history. Many people consider this gigantic construction as one among the world’s seven wonders.

When it comes to the origination of The Great Wall of China, it dates back to over 2,000 years ago during the reign of China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang (Shi Huang Ti). This great wall is well-known as "Wan-Li Qang-Qeng" in Chinese language that means 10,000 li long that is equal to about 2,272 miles or 5,000 km long.

The main objective behind constructing The Great Wall Of China was to secure its territory from the invading nomadic tribes. The Chinese during that era used to call these tribes as barbarians as these bribes live in tents while the Chinese people were living inside the sprawling palaces.

Although The Great Wall of China served for succeeding dynasties perfectly for few centuries as a strong defense fortress against the entire invading forces, the enemy invaders from the end of north were ultimately able to conquer over China in succeeding dynasties like The Manchus and Mongolians did.

There isn’t any wonder why the Great Wall of China falls in the list of world’s most popular tourist attractions as it offers such a panoramic views and magnificently rich historical memories.
